Workstation Settings

RezEasy Front Desk uses Microsoft HTML help to show context sensitive help when you press the "Help" button in a form. The Microsoft help application makes use of Internet Explorer. However, the default security settings in Internet Explorer will not allow the pages in the help file to display when you are opening a help file that is on a network server. Therefore, if you install RezEasy Front Desk on a network you must make some changes to each workstation so that the help file will display correctly.

The changes required for each workstation are described below.

NOTE: These settings do not decrease security when visiting websites.

Setting Internet Explorer

1. Start Internet Explorer
2. Click "Tools" and then "Internet options" in the menu bar (see Fig 1)

1. In the dialogue box that opens click the "Security" tab (see Fig 2 on the next page).
2. Click on the "Local Intranet" icon just below "Select a zone to view or change security settings".
3. Click the "Sites" button to the right of "Local intranet".
4. In the next dialogue box uncheck the first checkbox next to "Automatically detect intranet zones".
5. Check the checkbox next to "Include all network paths (UNCs)
6. Press the "OK" button.
7. Press "OK" button in the "Internet Options" dialogue box.

Registry Settings

1. Click the "Start" button in Windows then click Run
2. Type regedit into the "Open" box and then click OK.
3. Locate and then click the following registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\HTMLHelp\1.x\ItssRestrictions If this registry subkey does not exist, create it.
4. Right-click the ItssRestrictions subkey, point to "New", and then click "DWORD" Value.
5. Type MaxAllowedZone, and then press Enter.
6. Right-click the MaxAllowedZone value, and then click "Modify".
7. In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.
8. Quit Registry Editor.

Reg File

When you install RezEasy’s Workstation files "Rez70PMS_NetPC.exe" the installation program places a files called "HTMLHelp_Workstation.reg" into the installation the following folder :

C:\Program Files\Hallisoft\RezEasy_6_PMS\Registry\

If you double click the file the registry entry will be created automatically. The contents of file "HTMLHelp_Workstation.reg" are:
